ATTORNEY III

Position Summary Attorney III – Department of Cannabis Control, Sacramento County. Salary: $10,852.00 - $15,325.00 per month. New to state candidates will begin at the minimum salary of the classification. Key Responsibilities Independently perform the most complex, sensitive, and technically difficult legal work for the Department. Provide legal services across the Department's regulatory, enforcement, administrative, and operational programs. Serve as a subject matter expert and exercise broad discretion in delivering legal counsel. Act as a lead attorney, offering direction, mentoring and training to less experienced attorneys on matters requiring advanced legal skill and judgment. Working Conditions Candidates who reside outside California may interview remotely, but must provide proof of California residence prior to appointment. Special Requirements Must hold an active California State Bar License and maintain membership in good standing. Must submit fingerprints for Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) clearance per California Code of Regulations, and maintain clearance throughout employment. Must comply with Conflict of Interest (COI) regulations, submitting statements of economic interests on schedule. Position routinely handles sensitive and confidential issues and requires strict confidentiality.
