Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Peoria, Illinois. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/14/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Summary The organization is seeking an ICU (Intensive Care Unit) Registered Nurse for a night shift position. The role involves providing primary care to critically ill patients in a high-acuity environment, including caring for ventilated, sedated, or post-surgical patients with complex needs. The ICU Nurse will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes in a fast-paced setting. Job Details Position: ICU (Intensive Care Unit) Registered Nurse Location: The facility's ICU unit Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week Required Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association), ACLS (American Heart Association); active Illinois license or confirmation of application process; last four digits of SSN required; understanding that the facility is a drug-free campus with a negative drug screen required Required Qualifications: Certification in BLS and ACLS, active Illinois license or initiated application, minimum of 1 year of ICU experience, and knowledge of ventilated, sedated, and trauma patient care including titration of drips such as Precedex, Propofol, Fentanyl, Versed, Lasix, Insulin, and others. Experience with PEG tube care, CVC/PICC/Midline, tracheostomy care, and patient monitoring is required. Additional Information: ICU nurses will manage ventilator troubleshooting, read telemetry strips, operate Phillips telemetry monitors, and care for patients with PEG tubes, CVCs, and tracheostomies. The unit has a hospitalist and intensivist in-house 24/7, and RT (Respiratory Therapist) support is available around the clock. Nursing staff may float to other units as needed.
