The Opportunity We are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant who takes ownership of their work, keeps the books clean, and brings real attention to detail to everything they touch. This role combines core accounting responsibilities with active involvement in inventory management and procurement - making it an ideal fit for someone who enjoys both the numbers side and the operational side of a growing business. Key Responsibilities Accounts Payable and Cash Management Manage and process vendor invoices accurately and on time. Maintain and reconcile accounts payable - ensuring vendors are paid correctly and on schedule. Own weekly cash flow reporting and forecasting. Manage positive pay and ACH disbursement controls. Accounting and Bookkeeping Maintain QuickBooks: chart of accounts, journal entries, bank reconciliations, and monthly close. Ensure accounting standards and internal policies are followed consistently. Identify and document process gaps - build reliable workflows so the business runs smoothly. Inventory Management and Controls Own inventory controls: reconciliation, cycle counts, records accuracy, and integrity of inventory data. Work closely with the procurement process - ensuring pricing accuracy, vendor terms, and timely ordering. Actively involved in vendor vetting and relationship management. Pressure-test new inventory tools and processes before adoption. Ensure inventory data is accurate and reliable for business planning purposes. Reporting and Communication Prepare regular financial reports and summaries for the Director of Finance. Flag discrepancies, variances, or issues proactively - before they become bigger problems. Collaborate with other departments on finance and inventory-related matters. What We're Looking For Required 2+ years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or a staff accountant role. Hands-on experience with QuickBooks or equivalent accounting software. Strong understanding of AP, bank reconciliations, and monthly close processes. Experience with or exposure to inventory management and controls. High attention to detail - you catch errors before they become problems. Reliable, organized, and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Clear communicator - you surface issues proactively rather than waiting to be asked. Preferred Experience in e-commerce, manufacturing, or a product-based business. Familiarity with inventory management systems (Fishbowl or similar). Experience with vendor management and procurement processes. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field - or equivalent practical experience. Compensation and Benefits Base salary: $78,000 - $85,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, long-term disability, 401k.
