Since 2014, Lilly has launched 19 new molecular entities globally, with several promising launches yet to come. We continue to set our sights higher, with a goal of launching 3 high-value NMEs per year including 1.5 NMEs sourced through business development. This represents a ~50% increase in BD output over our 2014-2022 average. The increase is activity of the BD organizations requires our teams to work quickly and efficiently across multiple teams.

If so, this opportunity is for you! The business development operations team is charged with “making the complex simple” and “executing relentlessly”. You will report to the Sr Director of Operations and Intelligence with accountability for 1) Execution of congress and conference strategy, 2) Information management 3) Oversite of procurement activities and 4) provide general operational support across the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Conference Management: Partner with the Business Development Growth and Strategy group to ensure alignment, planning and execution of conference activities for the Business Development , Catalyze 360 and the overall External Innovation ecosystem.
  • Work with Sr director of operations to manage overall budget of all conference activities including sponsorships, registrations, and partnering activities.
  • Ensure Lilly employees speaking at partnering events/conferences are aligned with BD external engagement strategy.
  • Liaise with conference organizations to manage tactical and strategic elements, ensuring that the full value of our investment (monetary and time) is fully realized.
  • Fully own the Lilly Partnering Event @ JP Morgan and Bio International conferences by coordinating across multiple internal and external organizations.

• Information Management:
  • Serve as the Protect Lilly Champion across all of Business Development activities, ensuring Business Development “right to operate” while still adhering to Protect Lilly constructs.
  • Own and manage all SharePoint libraries and tools utilized by Business Development. Ownership implies the timely creation, management, and deletion according to the Global Record Retention Schedule procedure.
  • Own internal websites including content and access, ensuring that information is organized and easy to navigate.
  • Provide a mechanism for the appropriate custody of physical copies of records (i.e. physically signed).

• Oversite of Procurement activities:
  • Ensure full knowledge of all procurement processes and requirements such that business needs are processed efficiently and clearly.
  • Provide clear and concise mentorship across organization and act as liaison for business development with broader procurement organization.

• Other operational support:
  • Proactively engage with external consortia of top pharma companies to understand issues associated with BD partnering logistics as well as providing Lilly with line of site to competitor strategies.
  • Develop, maintain and execute onboarding activities for new employees including first 30-day activities, coordinating with employee supervisors and respective administrative assistants.
  • Develop an optimization to automation strategy for tasks that will enable the BD team to execute in an efficient manner without growing workload.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree
• 3+ years of experience supporting multiple organizations and business processes.
• Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for employment positions on the B or S paths or at levels M1-M2 or P1-P4.
