Industrial Electrician

Industrial Electrician Reports to: General Foreman Location: Dayton, Ohio FLSA Status: Full-Time / Non-Exempt Pay: $37.25 per hour Benefits: Paid health insurance, pension and annuity at no cost to employee. Responsibilities: Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes. Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components. Test electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of the system. Use a variety of tools or equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment such as oscilloscopes, ammeters, or test lamps. Repair and install electrical devices such as receptacles, light fixtures, light switches, lighting ballast, motors, etc. Assist in keeping building common and electrical spaces in a neat, orderly, and safe condition. Accomplish work in accordance with blueprints and specifications, and national and local codes. Update as‑built drawings as necessary, according to department policies. Attend tool‑box safety meetings and demonstrate safety competency, as well as topics such as harassment prevention and ethics. Obtain an OSHA 10 General Industry Safety and Health standards certification. Extended hours or weekend overtime may be available. Education and Qualifications: High School diploma or GED required. Previous electrical experience required. ISA Instrumentation Certification required. Valid driver’s license. Language Skills: Effective communication in English; cooperation and collaboration with multiple levels of customers and employees. Physical Requirements: Regularly required to walk, use fingers and hands, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; must stand frequently, sit occasionally; must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; must be able to use hand and power tools. Requires close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth vision. Must commute to field locations and various job sites. Work Environment: Work outdoors, exposed to wet/humid conditions; moving mechanical and electrical parts; high, precarious places; dust, fumes, airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extended exposure to sunlight; cold and heat; risk of electrical shock and vibration.
