Join us.Job DescriptionJob SummaryAECOM is actively seeking a talented, energetic technology minded Geographic Information System (GIS) professional for immediate employment in the MCB Camp Lejeune Installation Geospatial Information and Services (IGI&S) office as a seconded employee.The position will be on-site at MCB Camp Lejeune, near Jacksonville, North Carolina.The GIS Specialist is a full-time AECOM employee that will report to the GIS Manager in the Technology Services Group and will support our United States Marine Corps (USMC) client within the Environment Business line. This position will be part of a team of GIS Specialists supporting the MCB Camp Lejeune IGI&S Program and other functional areas (e.g. environment, facilities) with GIS data management, geospatial analysis and modeling, development of web-based solutions, cartographic product development, and technical support. A successful candidate will work both independently and in close coordination with the local USMC IGI&S manager and the AECOM project team to develop, deploy and support GIS across the installation.· Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Provide comprehensive geospatial services in a fast-paced, professional environment with a high-level of visibility to senior leadership.Follow project plans to successfully execute assigned workWork with other staff to ensure quality in all work productsDesign geospatial solutions using a variety of Esri products, including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Desktop, and Portal for ArcGIS.Develop and maintain Portal for ArcGIS web-based geospatial content and apps to support data-driven decision makingDesign and implement quality assurance procedures to complete technical quality reviews of GIS data and applicationsMaintain quality assurance of spatial and non-spatial data and processes as per defined standardsMaintain strong knowledge in existing and emerging GIS related software and technologiesCreate and maintain GIS data in an ArcGIS Enterprise environmentAuthor automated processing tools (Python, Model Builder) for use with repetitive or complex tasksCommunicate and collaborate with the project manager, project team, and client stakeholders to understand and document system and solution requirementsMeet with subject matter specialists to discuss topics, such as technical specifications, customized solutions, and operational problemsIndependently execute and delivers GIS projects of moderate to significant scope and complexityPerform technical reviews to validate data are compliant with the Marine Corps implementation of the Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, Infrastructure, and Environment (SDSFIE) vector data modelMaintain a digital GIS Program Binder detailing the processes and actions involved in completing assigned dutiesDevelop visualizations and reports using tools such as Power BI, ArcGIS Pro, or Portal for ArcGIS to effectively communicate findings to technical and nontechnical stakeholdersHave excellent critical thinking, decision-making, conflict resolution, and analytical skillsSolid understanding of geospatial data formats, coordinate systems, and GIS principlesApply attention to detail with proactive and resourceful problem-solving skillsPrepare meeting materials, web maps, or figures for a variety of communities, stakeholders, and projectsCreate, edit, or delete GIS features/attribute information within an enterprise geodatabasePrepare digital mapsQualificationsMinimum RequirementsBachelor's Degree in CAD, BIM, GIS, Computer Science, Geography, Environmental Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field + 4 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education.Due to the nature of work, US citizenship is required.Valid Driver’s License and as a condition of employment must be able to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review.GIS experiencePreferred QualificationsProficiency with applications such as:ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro, and Desktop SoftwarePortal for ArcGIS / ArcGIS OnlineMicrosoft Office ApplicationsExperience with AutoCAD Civil 3D/AutoCAD MapPython scripting for process automationComfortable working outside occasionally to support field activitiesComfortable working in a fast-paced multi-tasking environmentMaintain knowledge in existing and emerging geospatial software and technologiesGIS data management, technical writing, and geodatabase design experienceGeneral understanding of relational database organization, design, and functionalityAbility to learn and present best practices for data management including workflows, tools, governance models, and integration patternsDemonstrated knowledge of cartographic design and production concepts and principlesDemonstrated experience with the Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, Infrastructure, and Environment (SDSFIE)Additional InformationAdditional informationRelocation is not available for this positionSponsorship is not available for this positionAt AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
