Plasma Center Nurse - EMT

Job Overview Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) will support plasma center operations, reporting to the Plasma Center Manager under guidance of the Center Physician. Responsibilities Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, education, and self-exclusion. Conduct medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE). Manage donor adverse events and review laboratory test results. Notify donors of unsuitable test results. Evaluate donor reaction(s) and follow SOPs for medical emergencies. Assist with development of Center Physician standing orders and donor transport to emergency care. Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees. Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/ER for further evaluation. Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats. Qualifications High school diploma or graduate equivalent of a recognized nursing program with state requirements. Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT-Paramedic, CPR, AED certification. State certification for basic IV therapy. Completion of FDA approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting. Knowledge of plasma collection regulations or manufacturing environment. Compensation and Benefits Hourly wage: $22.80 – $31.35. Salary may vary based on qualifications and location.
