Human Resources GeneralistFostering a positive and productive work environment by facilitating open communication channels within DBU and encouraging dialogue between employees and leadershipEnsure institutional compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations while managing employee benefits and addressing employee concerns in accordance with DBU policiesBachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field required3-6 years of progressive human resources or related fieldSHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP, PHR or SPHR preferredStrong interpersonal skills to build and maintain positive relationships with employees at all levels at DBUExperience in higher education or faith-based organizations preferredPartner with Chief of Staff on strategic workforce planning, policy development, and institutional HR initiativesMaintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; proactively identify and mitigate compliance risks; recommend best practices and recommend revisions to HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance and alignment with DBU's missionManage Leave of Absences, including but not limited to FMLA, Maternity/Parental, ADA, and Administrative leaves; approve routine leave requests within established guidelinesOversee benefits compliance, ACA compliance, and other regulatory documentation; maintain organized records and support reporting needs for IPEDS, NDT, 990, and similar filingsManage processes for Worker's Compensation claims from beginning to end, including coordination with insurance carriers and regulatory reportingPrepare annual OSHA reporting and ensure workplace safety complianceKeep personnel files in compliance with retention policiesManage relationships with insurance carriers and brokers; negotiate contracts and service agreements within approved parameters; resolve escalated issues and ensure accurate plan administrationProcess monthly benefit plan payments, submittals, journal entries, and reconciliation of accountsPrepare materials and logistics for the annual Open Enrollment processManage the retiree insurance continuation program, including processing monthly premium receivables and coordinating Open Enrollment annuallyProvide oversight for benefits data integrity, including weekly carrier feeds and HRIS benefit updates; proof benefit deductions on each payroll and transmit HSA contributions after each payrollProcess all purchase orders for vendor invoicing, reimbursements, and related transactionsCollaborate with leaders in conflict resolution, facilitating discussions between employees and leadership to address employee concerns in a timely mannerOversee administration of the Performance Review Policy, ensuring compliance with review and appeal procedures, maintaining records, and providing guidance on the application of policy requirementsCoordinate with HR Investigations Coordinator on investigations as needed and work with leadership on appropriate disciplinary action for violations of DBU policyCoach managers on handling Human Resource matters, promoting a consistent approach in accordance with DBU policiesRespond to employee inquiries in a timely manner, escalating inquiries to Chief of Staff when neededCollaborate with Onboarding Specialist to ensure seamless new employee integration and orientation experiences aligned with DBU's mission and cultureAssist with New Staff Orientation and ensure completion of required documentation and trainingFacilitate employee training through ADP eLearning and other platformsManage and facilitate the Wellness Program, including portal maintenance, programs, luncheons, reporting, and awardsThis is a full-time position with regular office hours between 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday – FridayThis position will work on the main campus, located at 3000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211Must be a Christian who is a member of a church that holds Jesus Christ to be their Lord and Savior, and who holds solely the Old Testament and the New Testament as sacred Scriptures.DBU requires employees to follow all University policies and procedures, which exist to support the Christian mission of DBU and includes, but is not limited to, a Christian Code of Conduct.
