If you need to request an accommodation to fully participate in the search process, please contact View email address on click.appcast.io DescriptionPosition SummaryReporting to the Senior Director of Volunteer Engagement and Reunion, the Associate Director has primary responsibility for executing the full volunteer engagement cycle for the Alumnae/i Association's class-based engagement volunteers who have celebrated a 50th Reunion (excluding Class Notes). The cycle includes successful recruitment, orientation/training, relationship/information management, evaluation/feedback, and recognition of non-fundraising class volunteers, who number in the hundreds and span three decades of graduates. This role also spearheads the development for the lectures, panels and tours offered during Reunion weekend.Responsibilities:Volunteer Engagement: Partner with the Senior Director and other Advancement colleagues to develop and execute plans that move non-fundraising class volunteers through all phases of the volunteer engagement cycle by reunion cohorts.Signature Programming: Work collaboratively with colleagues, volunteers, and campus partners to plan, support and/or deliver class-based Reunions and Mini-Reunions. Ensure that all programming is in alignment with strategic priorities and values around community-building, access, sustainability and excellence.Performance Management: Set clear expectations for the Office Specialist and manage performance accordingly.Relationship Building: Proactively cultivate and nurture relationships with volunteers, colleagues and campus partners to ensure the successful completion of annual goals and objectives.Copy/edit class engagement communications for all classes within the Volunteer Engagement and Reunion team.Metrics and Analysis: Set annual performance goals and conduct ongoing analysis of KPIs for the Director, as requested.Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.Three years of progressively responsible experience in alum relations or similar constituent relations role, ideally in a liberal arts college setting.Exceptional organizational, communication, and program planning skills.Competence with CRM databases, Google Suite Applications (or similar), video conferencing, and other standard office technologies.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.Willingness to work evenings and weekends and occasionally travel.Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.Preferred knowledge, skills, and abilities:Advanced certification in event management or a related field.Experience working in a higher education or fundraising environment.Knowledge of trends in alumni relations, donor engagement, and nonprofit events.A creative and forward-thinking approach to event planning and problem-solving.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.CompensationThe compensation for this position is $68,000 - $76,000 per year.When extending an offer, Vassar College considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, budget, and other market and organizational considerations.
