This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide specialized pharmacist oversight in a retail compounding environment, focusing on sterile and non-sterile preparations. The position is contract to hire, with a Monday through Friday schedule from 9 am to 5 pm.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise sterile and non-sterile compounding operations, ensuring compliance with USP standards and all relevant state and federal pharmacy regulations.
• Verify prescriptions for accuracy, safety, clinical appropriateness, labeling, and completeness.
• Enforce sterile cleanroom best practices including aseptic technique, hand hygiene, garbing, material transfer, and contamination control.
• Oversee training, competency assessments, and documentation for pharmacy personnel involved in sterile compounding.
• Review compounding and quality-control records and support environmental and personnel monitoring activities.
• Investigate and resolve deviations, errors, quality events, and compliance concerns.
• Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of SOPs and operational processes.
• Assist in maintaining inspection readiness and support regulatory inspections and internal assessments.
• Collaborate with pharmacists, technicians, prescribers, and other team members to ensure efficient workflow and provide patient counseling when needed.
• Maintain flexibility to adapt to evolving staffing needs, technologies, and operational priorities.

Desired Qualifications:

• Active, unrestricted pharmacist license in the State of Maryland at employment; California-licensed applicants are also considered with the ability and commitment to obtain Maryland licensure.
• Significant recent experience with sterile compounding and USP-compliant pharmacy operations.
• Strong knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and professional practice requirements.
• Exceptional attention to detail and disciplined documentation skills.
• Proactive compliance risk identification and resolution abilities.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within the pharmacy team.
• Sound judgment and capacity to prioritize in a fast-paced setting.
• Willingness to adapt as the organization grows and evolves.
• California license applicants must have or obtain an active California pharmacist license or be eligible to complete the CPJE within 120 days of employment.
