This role offers an opportunity to apply expertise in pharmacy practice with a focus on sterile and non-sterile compounding within a retail compounding environment. The position operates Monday through Friday, from 9 am to 5 pm, providing a consistent schedule for work-life balance. This contract-to-hire position requires a pharmacist dedicated to upholding the highest standards of patient care and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide pharmacist oversight for sterile and non-sterile compounding operations, ensuring adherence to clinical appropriateness, accuracy, safety, labeling, and completeness.
• Verify prescriptions and ensure compliance with USP standards, state and federal pharmacy regulations, company SOPs, and quality systems.
• Implement and enforce sterile cleanroom best practices such as hand hygiene, aseptic technique, and contamination control.
• Supervise pharmacy personnel involved in sterile compounding, supporting compliance training and competency assessments.
• Review compounding records, quality control documentation, and related paperwork meticulously.
• Support environmental and personnel monitoring, media-fill testing, and quality assurance programs.
• Identify and resolve deviations, errors, and quality events proactively.
• Assist in developing and improving SOPs and operational procedures.
• Maintain inspection readiness and support regulatory inspections and internal assessments.
• Collaborate with pharmacists, technicians, leadership, prescribers, and other partners to ensure efficient workflow.
• Provide patient counseling and communicate with prescribers for clinical clarifications.
• Adapt to evolving staffing needs, technologies, and operational priorities.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

• Active, unrestricted pharmacist license in Maryland at the time of employment, or an active California pharmacist license, or eligibility and willingness to obtain California licensure within 120 days.
• Recent substantial experience with sterile compounding and USP-compliant pharmacy operations.
• Thorough knowledge of pharmacy laws, USP standards, and professional requirements.
• Exceptional attention to detail and disciplined documentation skills.
• Ability to identify and manage compliance risks proactively.
• Strong independent work ethic balanced with collaborative teamwork.
• Sound judgment and effective multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to adapt as the organization evolves.
