Perioperative Services supports surgical, gastroenterology, cardiac catheterization laboratory, and pain center patients across inpatient and outpatient settings, providing comprehensive peri‑operative care for adults and children. Responsibilities Promote patient‑ and family‑centered care in a healing environment. Educate patients and families on managing illness or injury, including post‑treatment home care needs and medication administration. Participate in activities that promote patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. Engage in professional development. Develop, implement, and document individualized plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team, patients, families, or caregivers, following established guidelines and nursing standards. Proactively plan and ensure communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care. Use critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs in accordance with standards of care. Assess patient preferences and barriers to care, including values, emotions, spirituality, culture, and population‑specific needs. BJC has determined this to be a safety‑sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job. Minimum Requirements Education: Nursing Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing. Experience: None required. Supervisor Experience: None required. Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) license. Preferred Requirements Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
