Located in Greater Boston, MassBay is a comprehensive, open-accesscommunity college offering associate degrees and certificateprograms on three campuses in Wellesley Hills, Framingham, andAshland, Massachusetts. Position Summary: The ideal candidate will join a vibrant and inclusive educationalcommunity and have a desire and ability to work with a populationof students with various needs and backgrounds. This is apart-time, non-unit position with no benefits. This position coaches, supervises and develops an intercollegiatevarsity team, including in-season and off-season programming, inaccordance with institutional and departmental objectives withinthe rules and regulations of the athletic governing bodies. Key Responsibilities and Duties: Plan, strategize, and oversee all practices and scheduledcontests to provide a positive and competitive experience forstudent athletes; Develop a recruitment plan to identify and enroll studentathletes that will create and sustain a successful, competitiveathletic program; Establish team rules and protocols and implementappropriately; Foster the personal development and competitive spirit of thestudent athletes while supporting their educationalexperience; Emphasize and promote academic progress, resulting in strongacademic performance, retention and graduation rates; Provide team supervision at all off-campus competitions.Interpret and implement the rules and regulations of the team, thedepartment, and the college; Represent the college and team at all appropriate athleticevents (e.g. competitions, conferences, and college-sanctionedprograms such as open houses); Assist with game day set-up and breakdown; Compile game statistics and assist with entries into prestostats system; Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree; Recruiting experience. Preferred Qualifications: Sensitivity and commitment to the goals of Affi n? Experience working in a community college or similarenvironment; Demonstrated commitment to working with underservedstudents; Experience coaching at the collegiate level; Experience as a golfer.
