High School Social Studies Teacher

The Raymore-Peculiar School District is seeking a passionate and student-centered High School Social Studies Teacher to join our dedicated team for the 2026–2027 school year . The ideal candidate will create engaging, standards-based instruction that promotes critical thinking, civic responsibility, historical understanding, and student collaboration while supporting the academic and social-emotional growth of all learners. The qualified candidate should hold or be eligible fora Missouri Teaching Certification - Social Science 9-12. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver effective instruction aligned with Missouri Learning Standards for Social Studies. Teach courses which may include World History, U.S. History, Government, Civics, Geography, Economics, or other assigned social studies courses. Develop engaging lesson plans that incorporate critical thinking, inquiry, discussion, and analysis of primary and secondary sources. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students. Assess student progress regularly and maintain accurate academic records. Utilize instructional technology and district-approved curriculum resources effectively. Establish and maintain a positive, safe, and productive classroom environment. Communicate regularly with students, parents/guardians, administrators, and staff regarding student progress and needs. Collaborate with colleagues, counselors, and administrators to support student success. Participate in professional development, faculty meetings, and district initiatives. Maintain confidentiality and comply with all district policies, procedures, and state/federal regulations.
