Job Summary The Clinical Director (CD) is a hybrid role: 0.75 FTE clinical provider and 0.25 FTE clinical leader. Responsibilities include managing and supervising clinical providers, coordinating schedules with the Practice Manager, and overseeing daily patient flow to ensure quality care and operational excellence. Minimum Qualifications Proficient reading, speaking, understanding, and writing in English Effective oral and written communication skills Professional representation of the organization in the community Self‑directed and independent work style Ability to motivate, sustain, and support a team‑oriented culture Strong organizational and communication skills Knowledge of medical terminology Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Basic operational and project management leadership Ability to articulate organizational vision and implement strategic initiatives Problem‑solving for complex issues Delegation and monitoring of subordinate staff activities Employee relations skills: recruiting, onboarding, coaching, terminations Leadership and basic management skills Judgment, tact, and diplomacy Support for clinical teams and escalation of care delivery issues Preferred Qualifications Bilingual skills Education and training in specialized care (family practice, internal medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics, prenatal) Formal education and training in leadership and management Clinical supervisory/management experience as clinic director or equivalent (2 years) Familiarity with federally qualified health centers or similar settings Experience in not‑for‑profit healthcare organization Experience delivering care to low‑income, multi‑ethnic populations Experience leading process improvement, quality improvement, or CQI initiatives in primary care Leadership certification or training Board‑certified or eligible in Addiction Medicine Education Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from an accredited School of Medicine or Osteopathy, or Physician Assistant (PA)/Registered Nurse Practitioner with a Master’s degree or post‑Master’s Certificate as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) Completion of an accredited residency program in area of practice (family medicine, internal medicine, or pediatrics) Experience Practicing clinician for at least 2 years Experience in a primary care, multi‑site, multi‑provider medical practice Familiarity with federally qualified health centers or analogous settings Experience in a not‑for‑profit healthcare organization Experience with healthcare delivery to low‑income, multi‑ethnic populations Experience leading process improvement and quality improvement initiatives in primary care Credentials Physician license (MD/DO) with the State of Washington, or Physician Assistant (PA)/Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) license with prescriptive privileges in Washington Board eligibility or certification by ABMS or AOA in Family Practice, Internal Medicine, or Pediatrics (must be obtained within one year of hire) Physician Assistant certification by NCCPA or ANCC (or equivalent); ANCC or AANP for APRN DEA controlled substances registration Hospital privileges (if applicable) – must be obtained within 60 days of employment Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (CPR/AED) – must be obtained at hire Successful completion of CHC’s credentialing/privileging review upon hire and recredentialing as appropriate Verified immunity to measles, mumps, rubella (MMR), and varicella (chickenpox) via vaccination records or titer results (accommodations may be reviewed on a case‑by‑case basis) Job Specific Functions and Performance Expectations Communication – Consistently and effectively communicate organizational goals, values, and key messages; lead clinical and operational meetings Clinic Management – Support and direct clinical and programmatic components of the medical division at the clinic level Clinic Performance – Develop and implement annual operation plans, including regular reports and reviews Operational Performance – Oversee all functions related to clinical services with the Regional Medical Director, Clinic Practice Manager, and other leaders Provider Development – Manage provider performance, professional development, and training; oversee onboarding and evaluation Quality and Process Improvement – Lead quality improvement initiatives and collaborate with the organization’s program Informatics/IT Enablement – Coach providers on efficient use of the EHR; support IT/EMR initiatives Strategy – Collaborate with clinical and operational leaders to achieve strategic goals Data Analysis – Review, analyze, and evaluate financial and statistical information; prepare reports and presentations Budget – Support administration of clinic budgets and ensure effective management Operational collaboration – Work with the Clinic Practice Manager to ensure daily services meet standards Attendance – Adhere to attendance standards Equal Employment Opportunity Statement CHC is an Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer (EEO/AA)/At‑will employer. #J-18808-Ljbffr Community Health Center of Snohomish County (CHC)
