ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced ICU Registered Nurse to join our Critical Care Float Pool. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in critical care nursing, specifically in various intensive care settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients in a float capacity across multiple intensive care units.
• Monitor patient vital signs and respond to changes in patient condition.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
• Perform advanced nursing procedures and administer medications as prescribed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in critical care nursing.
• Current certifications in ACLS and BLS are required.
• No first-time travelers accepted; experience in critical care settings is mandatory.

Work Schedule

This position requires working 3 consecutive 12-hour night shifts each week. Weekend work is required, and the candidate must be available to work a minimum of two out of three major holidays.

Additional Information

• Floating within the hospital is required; floating to sister hospitals is not.
• Guaranteed hours may be adjusted based on patient census and staffing needs.
• The float pool covers a variety of intensive care units, including Surgical ICU, Cardiac ICU, Cardiothoracic ICU, Medical ICU, and Bone Marrow Transplant/Oncology ICU.
• Parking costs are applicable for on-site parking.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a teaching center or Magnet facility is preferred.
