This is a Life Skills Teacherposition at our Day School with openings in Geneva,Elgin and Bloomingdale, IL. The starting salary is $61,500 - $65,000 based on qualifications and experience . After your first year thesalary will increase by $5,000 ($66,500 - $70,000 based on qualifications and experience). Additionally, all Teachers will receive a $3,000 contract incentive bonus each year after the first year. Marklund Day School provides an environment conducive tolearning through specialized curriculum, positive behavioralinterventions, and individualized student support.The Marklund LifeSkills Program is designed to provide specialized support to studentswho have learning and developmental disabilities and those identifiedon the Autism Spectrum. Experience and Skills Qualifications for this position: Must be a graduate of an accredited college and have proper andcurrent Illinois teaching credentials (PEL license). Must includeLBS1. Must meet state guidelines for school accreditation. Experience in educating children with special needs preferred.Ability to understand students unique needs and react effectively to their needs. Experience with profound disabilites a plus.
