ED Tech, Emergency Department, Full-time, 11a-11p

Job Description Reporting to the Nurse Manager and under the general supervision of a Charge Nurse, the nurse assistant assists both nurses and physicians with patients in the Emergency Department by performing both basic and complex patient care procedures. Employment Type Full time Shift 12 Hour Evening Shift Qualifications and Experience Current certification as a Certified Nurse Assistant, or an Emergency Medical Technician – Ambulance, Intermediate or Paramedic preferred. One (1) year of previous experience in an Emergency Department setting is preferred. Completion of a High School Diploma or its equivalent. Current CPR certification at the time of hire. ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification at the time of hire or within six (6) months of hire. Completion of a Basic Arrhythmia Class at the time of hire or within six (6) months of hire. Completion of Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within six (6) months to one (1) year of hire. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, in order to communicate with patients, their families and all levels of hospital staff. Prior experience with a computer, including data entry. Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
