About the Opportunity

A nationally recognized litigation firm is seeking an experienced Toxic Tort / Environmental Litigation Attorney to join its growing litigation practice. This position offers the opportunity to work on complex and high-exposure matters involving toxic tort, environmental exposure, asbestos, benzene, silica, mold, groundwater contamination, and other environmental and mass tort claims.

Position Overview

The ideal candidate will have strong defense litigation experience handling toxic tort and environmental litigation matters for corporate clients, manufacturers, contractors, insurers, and transportation companies. Candidates should be comfortable independently managing cases, conducting depositions, handling motion practice, and assisting with trial preparation.

Responsibilities

• Manage toxic tort and environmental litigation matters from inception through resolution.
• Defend corporate clients in matters involving asbestos, silica, benzene, mold, chemical exposure, environmental contamination, and other toxic exposure claims.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, mediation statements, and litigation correspondence.
• Conduct and defend fact witness, expert witness, corporate representative, and PMQ depositions.
• Prepare dispositive motions, including motions for summary judgment and motions in limine.
• Analyze liability exposure, causation issues, and litigation risk.
• Work closely with scientific, medical, and environmental experts.
• Attend court hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and case management conferences.
• Assist with trial preparation including witness preparation, exhibit review, and trial strategy.
• Collaborate with litigation teams and clients regarding defense strategy and case management.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active admission to the state Bar in the office location applied for.
• 3+ years of civil defense litigation experience preferred.
• Experience handling toxic tort, environmental litigation, product liability, or complex litigation matters preferred.
• Strong deposition, discovery, and motion practice skills.
• Excellent legal writing, analytical, and communication abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Trial preparation experience preferred.
