We are seeking a driven Director of Quality to lead enterprise-wide quality systems across our Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) operations supporting major prime contractors in aerospace, defense, and space programs. This executive will architect a Quality Center of Excellence, serve as the organizational authority on AS9100D, NADCAP, and MIL-SPEC compliance, and oversee quality assurance for mission-critical, and classified hardware. The role also carries direct responsibility for quality integration in merger and acquisition activity as we expand our A&D EMS footprint through strategic acquisitions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

–     Establish and lead a Quality Center of Excellence covering SMT/PCB assembly, conformal coating, electromechanical integration, acceptance test, and program-level quality for flight-critical and mission-critical hardware delivered to major prime contractors

–     Own and continuously improve the AS9100D quality management system; lead NADCAP accreditation across all applicable special processes; manage all DCMA/DCAA interactions, customer source inspections, and third-party surveillance audits

–     Serve as quality authority for First Article Inspection (AS9102B), DCI, Certificate of Conformance

–     Lead quality diligence and QMS integration for M&A activity — assessing AS9100D and NADCAP readiness, ITAR compliance posture, and counterfeit parts risk for acquisition targets; develop and execute post-close integration roadmaps

–     Oversee Approved Supplier List (ASL) governance, supplier development audits, SCAR/PCAR administration, and counterfeit electronic parts prevention per AS5553 and AS6174 for all prime contractor supply chains

–     Ensure CMMC Level 2 quality-related controls are documented, implemented, and audit-ready in coordination with the CISO and Program Management Office

–     Partner with Engineering and Program Management to embed DFM/DFT quality gates, producibility reviews, and manufacturing readiness assessments for new aerospace, defense, and space programs

–     Represent the organization at prime contractor quality forums, government source inspections, and industry working groups including IPC standards committees.

–     Build, mentor, and scale a high-performance quality organization capable of supporting both classified and unclassified program environments across multiple shifts and production areas.
