California Environmental Quality Act Project Manager

Working Title: California Environmental Quality Act Project Manager Classification: SENIOR UTILITIES ENGINEER (SPECIALIST) Salary: $11,437.00 – $14,315.00 Location: California – Hybrid (minimum 2 days per week on site) Department: Energy Division, California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) Branch, CEQA & Energy Permitting We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive team and strongly encourage applications from individuals of all backgrounds, identities, and abilities. Responsibilities and Duties Lead as the CEQA Project Manager for environmental reviews of electrical and natural gas infrastructure projects. Conduct complex technical, policy, and economic analyses to support Administrative Law Judges (ALJs), Commissioners, and Advisors during permitting. Manage development of CEQA and other environmental review documents and lead permitting processes for utility infrastructure projects. Oversee construction compliance of utility infrastructure projects. Advise and consult with ALJs on rulings and proposed decisions; provide technical support during formal proceedings and prepare briefings. Request consultant proposals, manage selection, and serve as contract manager for CEQA document production. Facilitate workshops and stakeholder meetings as needed. Qualifications and Requirements Professional Engineer license in California; copy to be provided prior to hire. Demonstrated experience with CEQA environmental reviews and approvals for complex electrical or gas infrastructure projects. Technical skills, education, and experience in environmental and energy or industrial fields. Experience with stakeholder outreach and engagement. Eligibility Individuals currently in the classification, eligible for lateral transfer or reinstatement, and those with list or LEAP eligibility.
