Responsibilities Complete California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) environmental review for infrastructure projects, such as electrical and natural gas infrastructure projects. Lead complex technical, policy, and/or economic analyses and research to support Administrative Law Judges (ALJ), Commissioners, and Advisors in the permitting of utility infrastructure projects including electric transmission infrastructure (such as transmission lines and substations), and natural gas infrastructure (such as compressor stations and pipelines). Manage development of CEQA and other environmental review documents and lead permitting for development of utility infrastructure projects. Oversee construction compliance of utility infrastructure projects. Advise and consult with ALJs regarding rulings and proposed decisions, provide technical support for ALJs in formal proceedings before the Commission, prepare briefings, and perform policy research. Request proposals for consultant services, manage the selection process and act as contract manager overseeing the development of CEQA documents and other environmental documentation. Facilitate workshops and/or stakeholder meetings as needed. Work on the most complex projects and manage several complex projects. This is a hybrid position that will require the selected candidate to report to their assigned headquarter office a minimum of two days a week.
