Programmer / Lathe Operator – Direct H ire (1st Shift)

Starting at $22/hr+ Based on Experience
Schedule : 3:00am Start | Significant Overtime Available-must be able to work 10-12 hour days, along with Saturdays

We are seeking a skilled Programmer/Lathe Operator  to join our client's Machine Shop team on a direct-hire basis. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on machining, programming, problem-solving, and contributing to a high-performance manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret complex drawings and blueprints for machining operations.
• Program G-Code and develop CNC lathe/mill programs using MasterCam .
• Operate and set up most CNC and manual machines within the shop.
• Understand tooling concepts and select appropriate tooling for machining operations.
• Support scheduling of CNC machines and operator assignments when needed.
• Review and interpret internal reports including scheduling spreadsheets, backlog reports, and Guardian system data.
• Assist the Machine Shop Supervisor with special projects such as:
  • 3PM crash protection software
  • Renishaw probing
  • New and trial tooling initiatives
• Participate in safety and incident review meetings as required.
• Perform direct labor and other tasks as needed to support department operations.

Required Skills & Experience

• Ability to read and understand detailed blueprints and machining drawings.
• Experience programming CNC lathes/mills (MasterCam required).
• Strong understanding of machining operations, tooling, and shop processes.
• Ability to operate and set up a wide range of CNC and manual machines.
• Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to support team operations.

Compensation

• Starting at $22/hr. with higher rates available based on experience.
• Overtime available and expected, offering strong earning potential.
