Department CC207269 Neurosurgery III Job Description Summary assist Dr Kantrowitz close charts and scribe during patient visits Position Responsibilities Able to identify patient ongoing problems. For existing patients, able to identify reason for visit/chief complaint, changes to medication and orders placed. For new patients, able to identify reason for visit and any ongoing problems. Able to start progress note including initial HPI, laboratory studies and other studies, and ICD/problem list for physician. Include location, quality, severity, duration, timing, context, precipitating/modifying factors, and associated signs and symptoms in HPI section. Include any details physician wants to take record in progress note. Able to record any findings physician has for review of systems and physical exam. Able to prepare and print out any related patient instructions/after visit summary/lab orders, if necessary. Able to "Pend" progress note for physician to personally review and sign. Able to help patient with any questions. Able to answer the phone with proper etiquette. Able to make addendums to the progress note at the request of the physician, if necessary.
