Senior Accountant
\nLocation: Chicago, IL
\nSalary: $95,000 - $105,000
\nWork style: 5 days in office.
\n \nPosition Summary
\n \nGlobal manufacturing company in Chicago office seeking a Senior Accountant to support month-end close, general ledger accounting, financial reporting, inventory accounting, fixed assets, intercompany transactions, and AP/AR activities. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, detail-oriented, and experienced in a fast-paced accounting environment.
\n \nKey Responsibilities
\nPrepare month-end journal entries and account reconciliations
\nSupport month-end and year-end close processes
\nPrepare financial reports and reporting packages
\nManage inventory accounting and related reserves
\nMaintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules
\nPrepare and reconcile intercompany transactions
\nAssist with cash forecasting and reporting
\nSupport internal and external audits
\nProcess AP activities, including wire transfers and 1099 reporting
\nAssist with AR reconciliations and related accounting activities
\nEnsure compliance with GAAP and company policies
\n \nRequired Qualifications
\nBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
\nCPA or equivalent certification
\nMinimum 5 years of accounting experience
\nKnowledge of GAAP
\nExperience with month-end close and general ledger accounting
\nStrong Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, functions)
\nExperience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems
\nExperience with inventory accounting and reconciliations
\nStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills in English
\nAbility to work independently and manage multiple priorities
\nPreferred Experience
\nManufacturing or distribution industry accounting
\nFixed asset accounting
\nIntercompany accounting and reconciliations
