Maintenance Tech

Otterbein has an opening for a Maintenance Tech. The primary responsibility of the Maintenance Tech is to assist in all phases of Maintenance, Transportation & Groundskeeping tasks throughout the Otterbein Campus. This includes completing assigned jobs related to painting, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, moving, mechanical and other general repairs. This also includes assisting with scheduled transportation. This is a full time position, primarily Monday-Friday, with rotating emergency on-call.

Responsibilities include:

• Maintaining a comfortable, safe and secure environment for the residents, their families, visitors and partners.
• Performing a variety of general maintenance tasks, including general repairs, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, etc.
• Assisting with moving of residents' furnishings as needed.
• Painting residents' living quarters as needed.
• Assisting with the on-going preventative maintenance program of cleaning, repairing and operating equipment, which minimizes abnormal equipment failure.
• Assisting with groundskeeping, weeding, mulching, and snow-removal.
• Assisting with maintaining documentation of fire safety evacuation plan, fire drills, disaster plan, smoking policy, fire alarm testing, fire extinguisher maintenance and testing reports, generator testing logs, water temperatures, flame spread ratings of interior finishes, and other maintenance records.
• Assisting with transportation tasks as needed.
• Performing any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications include:

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Holds a valid Ohio driver's license.
• General Maintenance - Electrical, Plumbing and Carpentry Experience, Mechanical Experience on H.V.A.C., Mowers and Vehicles.
