Key qualifications:

• Current registered nurse license in the state of New York
• Solid experience or training in pediatric or school nursing settings
• Familiarity with New York state health requirements for school-aged youth
• Skill in completing routine health screenings, testing, and maintaining accurate health records
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with students, families, and school staff
• Ability to respond calmly and efficiently to health emergencies or sudden illnesses within the school

Primary responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive daily nursing care to students ranging from preschool to high school
• Conduct routine health assessments, screenings, and administer necessary medications and treatments as prescribed
• Maintain up-to-date student health records and prepare required state and district reports
• Collaborate with educators, parents, and outside healthcare providers to support individualized health plans
• Promote a healthy school environment through education, early intervention, and effective infection control practices
