Litigation Paralegal

Womble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our Nashville, TN office. This position will provide organizational and practice-specific assistance to attorneys in a specialized litigation team, preparing cases from onset through post-trial, including related research and analysis. Qualified candidates demonstrate professionalism, strong attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple priorities and work in an organized, efficient manner. Travel may be required on occasion. RESPONSIBILITIES Assist attorneys in all stages of litigation cases from onset through post-trial Oversee organization, maintenance, and appropriate utilization of electronic and hard-copy documentsand other case-related materials, including maintenance of electronic case folders and tracking spreadsheets across various platforms Assist attorneys and other paralegals in large-scale projects outside of typical litigation scope Participate in document reviews and document productions; works with attorneys and other paralegals innavigating electronic databases as part of case fact development Perform analytical tasks; reviews and summarizes documents and deposition transcripts Assist with basic legal research, including locating cases, statutes, and regulatory materials; conduct factresearch on the internet and private search engines, such as Westlaw and Lexis Assist with law and motion practice, assembles motion papers and exhibits, coordinates filings ofpleadings and briefs, and ensures proper service Draft common pleadings, motions, notices, and other court filings Familiar with federal and state rules of procedure and evidence for document format, content, filing, etc.,and ensures compliance with rules Perform and oversee both simple and complex authority and fact cite-checking; confirm case quotes;proofread briefs and other legal documents Assist with trial preparations; create trial notebooks; identify and organize exhibits, coordinatewitness schedules; maintain trial calendars; and communicate effectively with opposing counsel and courtroom staff Assist in preparation of post-trial filings, including briefing, motions for costs and sanctions, etc. andorganize the case for an appeal, if necessary Maintain timely and accurate timekeeping records on a daily basis Assist with other department activities as needed, and perform additional duties and responsibilities asassigned Perform other duties as requested REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s Degree and Paralegal Certification preferred; equivalent experience considered Minimum of 10 or more years of experience as a Litigation Paralegal working on complex litigation matters within a multi-lawyer law firm Experience in family law is a plus NALA certification preferred Exceptional computer skills, with the ability to learn and apply new software applications quickly Trial experience, including exhibit preparation, witness preparation, and management, knowledge ofsubpoena preparation, experience working with judicial assistants and trial presentation vendors, experience assisting attorneys in the courtroom Computer proficiency in Windows-based software and Microsoft Office Suite applications includingWord, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook, as well as document management Proficiency with e-filing and litigation support applications such as e-discovery platforms (e.g., Everlaw orRelativity), FileSite/WorkSite, Adobe Acrobat, cloud-based file-sharing platforms / FTP link platforms, and similar technology Ability to communicate professionally and interact effectively with all levels of personnel, includingmanagement staff and support staff while anticipating the needs of attorneys, clients, and matters Demonstrated attention to detail, reliability, outstanding organizational skills, and ability to learn newtechnology Excellent client service skills and ability to work on multiple matters simultaneously in an organizedmanner and under minimal supervision Skilled at drafting clear and concise memoranda, detailed fact summaries, pleadings, and other documents Flexibility to respond quickly and positively to shifting deadlines and/or strict deadlines, with thewillingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed, including weekends Position may periodically require off-site work at a war room or the courthouse when the case goes to trial #J-18808-Ljbffr
