Location: Greater Tampa Bay | On-Site | Local Candidates Only A well-established organization that has grown significantly over recent years is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to lead a tenured AP team through continued expansion and centralization. This is a hands-on leadership role built for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and brings both the technical depth to manage complex AP operations and the people skills to develop and mentor a team. The company has been on an active acquisition path, adding multiple locations and integrating new operations into a centralized accounting function — making adaptability, system fluency, and process standardization genuinely critical competencies for this hire. Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and develop a team of AP professionals across daily operations and longer-term growth Oversee end-to-end invoice processing, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and policy compliance throughout Review and approve invoice coding, payment batches, and AP-related transactions across the function Manage vendor reconciliations and resolve discrepancies with professionalism and efficiency Maintain active vendor relationships through direct phone and email communication as needed Monitor AP workflows and identify opportunities to improve processes and increase operational efficiency Support month-end close activities including account reconciliations and departmental reporting Navigate and manage AP activity across multiple systems simultaneously with accuracy and confidence Collaborate cross-functionally with accounting, purchasing, and operations teams on shared priorities Support standardization of AP processes across multiple locations as centralization continues Track team performance metrics and ensure service levels are consistently met Assist with audit preparation and provide supporting documentation as requested Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred; equivalent experience considered 3+ years of AP leadership or supervisory experience required Proven track record of managing, developing, and holding accountable an AP team High-volume AP environment experience strongly preferred Manufacturing, distribution, or product-based industry background a meaningful plus Proficient in Excel — pivot tables and VLOOKUPs required; aptitude to expand skillset valued Comfortable navigating multiple systems simultaneously; system savvy with ability to learn proprietary platforms Strong vendor communication skills — phone and email interaction is a consistent part of this role Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy across reconciliations and transaction review Collaborative and organized with strong problem-solving and prioritization abilities Why You'll Love Working Here Join a growing, acquisitive organization with strong leadership that has a proven track record of developing its people A well-structured AP team already in place — come in, lead, and optimize Stable, predictable schedule with reasonable hours and flexibility within a fully on-site environment Cross-functional visibility and involvement in centralization and process standardization initiatives At Taylor White, we specialize in Accounting & Finance roles in Tampa Bay.
