Accounts Payable Specialist
Location: Indianapolis, IN (Fully Onsite) Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a well-established Indianapolis-based manufacturing organization to identify an Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team. This opportunity will begin as a contract assignment with strong potential to convert to a permanent role for the right candidate.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a hands-on accounting environment and enjoys being a key contributor during a period of team transition and system implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Process approximately 400 invoices per month in a timely and accurate manner
- Perform 3-way matching (invoice, purchase order, packing slip)
- Code invoices to the general ledger
- Enter and process invoices within the accounting system
- Assist with weekly check runs
- Maintain organized records and documentation for audit purposes
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve invoice discrepancies
- Support the team during an upcoming ERP system transition
Qualifications
- 3+ years of accounts payable experience
- Experience with general ledger coding and full-cycle AP
- Strong understanding of invoice matching and reconciliation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting systems (ERP experience preferred)
- Ability to work independently in a structured, process-driven environment
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
