Director OF Digital Marketing

American Management Association, a world leader in talent development, is hiring a hands-on digital marketing leader who will be responsible for AMAs email automation, website roadmap, and digital customer experience.

This role will lead the effective use of Salesforce Marketing Cloud, develop automated customer journeys, improve website conversion, and manage AMAs relationship with its website development agency. The position is also expected to use AI and emerging technologies to improve marketing effectiveness, personalization, customer experience, productivity, and decision-making.

Job Responsibilities include:

• Leads Salesforce Marketing Cloud strategy and execution.
• Build and optimize automated customer journeys, including lead nurture, abandoned cart, cross-sell, renewal, and reactivation programs.
• Improve email segmentation, personalization, testing, deliverability, and performance.
• Own and prioritize the website enhancement roadmap.
• Translate business needs into website requirements and manage the development agency.
• Improve website navigation, search, forms, landing pages, checkout, and conversion paths.
• Use GA4, behavioral analytics, CRM data, and testing to identify opportunities and measure results.
• Identify and apply practical uses of AI for audience segmentation, personalization, content development, campaign testing, analytics, customer support, and workflow efficiency.
• Evaluate new AI-enabled marketing capabilities and recommend where they can deliver measurable business value.
• Ensure AI is used responsibly, with appropriate attention to data privacy, accuracy, security, and human review.
• Partner with Marketing, Sales, Product Management, IT, and external partners to deliver integrated digital initiatives..
• Establish clear digital performance goals, reporting, and accountability.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications include:

• Bachelors degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field required; MBA or advanced degree preferred
• 7+ years of experience in digital marketing, marketing automation, website management, e-commerce, or digital customer experience.
• Strong hands-on Salesforce Marketing Cloud experience, including Journey Builder and Automation Studio.
• Demonstrated experience developing lifecycle, nurture, and conversion-focused email journeys.
• Experience managing a complex website and an external development agency.
• Strong knowledge of digital analytics, conversion optimization, testing, CRM data, and customer journeys.
• Practical experience leveraging AI-enabled marketing, analytics, content generation, personalization, and productivity tools.
• Ability to evaluate AI opportunities based on business value rather than novelty.
• Experience with Salesforce CRM and GA4 preferred.
• Ability to move between strategy, hands-on execution, agency management, and performance analysis.
• Travel in accordance with business need.
