We are looking for a Vice Head of Middle School for an international school in Beijing. With purpose-built facilities and a strong academic focus, it provides a well-resourced setting for both students and staff, while still being within easy reach of Beijing's cultural, dining, and travel opportunities.About the roleThe Vice Head of Middle School is part of the senior leadership team and supports the Head of School by strengthening academic programmes, student behaviour systems, pastoral care, and social integration across the middle school division. Key responsibilities include:Lead and coordinate middle school academic and student support programmes that promote positive social integration in and out of the classroomCoach teachers and Teaching Fellows on adolescent development and effective classroom practiceEstablish and refine procedures for serious or high-risk behaviour incidentsSupport students' social and emotional development and help shape a consistent, achievement-focused school cultureOversee school routines and code of conduct implementation across classrooms and shared spaces such as breaks, lunch, hallways, and before and after school supervisionPartner with parents to align expectations and address student needs, including supporting teacher-parent communication when neededMaintain behaviour and discipline records and ensure follow-through across the divisionCoordinate academic and behavioural support with relevant school leaders in student affairs and academic programmesMonitor student arrival and dismissal to ensure safe, orderly daily operationsJob requirementsExcellent spoken and written EnglishMaster's degree required3 to 5 years of leadership experience in a middle school or secondary settingProven administrative capability and experience managing school operationsStrong organisational, interpersonal, and communication skillsSalary and benefitsCompetitive salary package commensurate with experience and qualificationsMonthly housing allowanceFree tuition for up to 2 childrenFlight allowanceContract completion bonusAnnual bonusCommercial medical insuranceFully paid summer and winter holidaysPublic holidays
