Days: Monday to Friday Hours: 1pm to 9pm Mobile Diesel Technician II As a Mobile Diesel Technician II, you will perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance inspections, and advanced mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic diagnostics on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment. You will be the lead on jobsites, acting as a consultant for customers, and ensuring high performance metrics. Responsibilities Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow‑up repairs on vehicles. Perform minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment, including electrical, brake, cooling, starter/alternator, fan clutch, engine electronics, diesel steering, engines, transmissions, clutches, and differentials. Diagnose, adjust, and repair various truck equipment, using test instruments and handheld computers. Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment; conduct road tests to confirm proper operation. Independently manage parts inventory, perform reconciliations, and obtain parts from approved vendors. Operate company‑issued service vehicle, conduct safety checks, and perform pre/post‑trip inspections. Work with clients to assess needs, provide information, and resolve issues. Manage concurrent tasks, prioritize work and time allocations effectively. Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts, and jacks. Document work in Repair Orders using the TRAIT application, upload photos, and complete DOT forms accurately. Maintain productivity and meet standard repair times. Communicate with management and support teams via email or phone for approvals and purchase orders. Perform all work in compliance with safety, health, environmental policies and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT). Requirements High School Diploma or GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field (or equivalent combination). At least 3 years of experience with refrigerated equipment. Supply a set of hand tools necessary for the job. OEM training and certifications preferred. Complete all company‑required training. Pass DOT‑regulated pre‑employment background screening and DOT physical. Maintain a current DOT medical card with more than four months remaining, or complete a DOT physical if less. Be at least 21 years old. Hold a valid state driver’s license and maintain a Driver Qualification File. Required Certifications (to be obtained within 18 months) ASE T8 (PMI) certification ASE 608/609 certification Preferred Certifications ASE T2 (Diesel Engines) certification ASE T3 (Drivetrain) certification ASE T4 (Brakes) certification ASE T5 (Suspension) certification ASE T6 (Electrical and Electronic Systems) certification ASE T7 (HVAC) certification ASE A8 (Engine Performance) certification ASE L1 (Advanced Engine Performance Specialist) certification ASE L2 (Electronic Diesel Engine Diagnosis Specialist) certification Skills & Abilities Understand implications of new information for decision‑making. Lift, bend, climb, stand, and walk for long periods; perform moderately heavy labor. Perform repetitive physical tasks over long periods without tiring. Communicate information succinctly and organize it clearly; engage in effective two‑way communication. Determine appropriate tools and equipment for tasks. Accurately judge distances between objects.
