Financial Controller

Overview A residential construction business is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to oversee core accounting operations and provide financial insight that supports profitability, growth, and strategic decision-making. This full-time, onsite position is based in El Paso, Texas, with compensation of $60,000–$95,000 per year plus performance-based bonus opportunities . Key Responsibilities Manage the full month-end close process and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting. Prepare monthly financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and management reports. Analyze budget and project variances and provide actionable recommendations to leadership. Coordinate external audits and maintain compliance with applicable reporting requirements. Oversee job costing processes to monitor project profitability and protect construction margins. Maintain strong internal controls and accurate financial records. Support strategic financial planning and business growth initiatives. Translate financial and operational data into clear insights for decision-making. Requirements At least 3 years of relevant financial management or accounting experience, preferably within construction. Experience with full-cycle accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and month-end close processes. Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent organization and attention to detail. Experience with statutory reporting and financial controls. Preferred Qualifications Associate's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 5+ years of financial management experience, preferably in residential construction. Experience with construction job costing and project-based financial management. Familiarity with Buildertrend and QuickBooks Online. $60,000–$95,000 annual salary, based on experience.
