As an Industrial Laser Machining Specialist, you’ll learn to run both CO2 and Fiber CNC lasers, tune programs for part quality, and keep materials moving with a sit‑down forklift—so production stays on time and to spec.

Your schedule

• 2nd shift: Monday–Thursday, 3:30 pm–2:00 am
• Training: 4–8 weeks on 1st shift
• Shift premium: $1.50/hour starting during 1st shift training
• Overtime: posted the Wednesday prior to the week worked

What you’ll handle

• Follow all safety and quality rules; model safe work habits.
• Set up and operate CNC laser equipment (CO2 and Fiber), making needed program adjustments.
• Operate a sit‑down forklift to stage and transfer materials.
• Pitch in with additional production tasks as assigned.

Skills that set you up for success

• Competent operating a sit‑down forklift.
• Able to read and interpret simple blueprints.
• Hands‑on with tools: hammer, pliers, screwdrivers, wrenches, drills, grinders, banders.
• Measurement savvy: tape measure, box calipers, sliding/dial calipers, micrometers.
• Comfort converting fractions to decimals and back; metric to English and back.
• Consistently deliver high‑quality work to internal and external customers.
• Capable of setting up and operating one or more processing machines.
• Speak, write, and understand conversational English.
• Strong attention to detail.
• High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).

Physical and workplace conditions

• Lift 20–60 lbs repeatedly.
• Bend, sit, stand, twist, and stoop for long periods.
• Walk frequently during the shift.
• Hand/finger coordination for precise part handling.

Expect indoor/outdoor conditions with temperature changes, loud noise, equipment vibration, and exposure to:

• Hazards: moving mechanical parts, electrical current, high heat, chemicals.
• Atmospheric conditions: fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, or limited ventilation.
• Oils: air and/or skin exposure to oils and cutting fluids.

We’re in the Cedar Falls Industrial Park off Highway 20. Our site features fiber and CO2 laser cutting, robotic and conventional press brakes, robotic welding plus MIG/TIG welding, along with machining and sawing. We build for agriculture, construction, rail, and energy sectors.
