ED Unit Resource Coordinator

$18 - $33.02 per hour

Title: ED Unit Resource Coordinator (URC) Department: Emergency Department Reports to: Clinical Director – Nursing Job Code/Cost Center: 20200-10016-002057 FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Position Objective The Unit Resource Coordinator is responsible for maintenance of patient medical records, internal and external communication, acquisition of stock and patient supplies, completion of log books, and coordination of ongoing activities at the Nurses’ station. Represents Luminis Health RISE Values in every interaction with patients, families, co‑workers, and colleagues. Essential Job Duties Assist with admissions, transfers and discharges. Collaborate with hospital personnel to ensure optimal patient care and promote a positive working environment in unit and hospital. Manage unit call volumes and coordinate communication on patient care unit. Maintain patient medical records to ensure they are current and accurate. Maintain patient and unit supplies economically and efficiently, including PPE. Coordinate communication at the Nurses’ Station and patient care unit. Participate in programs designed to increase the quality of patient care. Maintain nurse call and monitoring system. Conduct environmental care rounds. Maintain work orders. Welcome and escort unit visitors. Facilitate discharge coordination which includes transportation arrangements and discharge packets. Coordinate unit ASCOM messages. Assist all healthcare partners such as PT, OT, speech, providers, and case managers. Manage bed board and patient disposition. Distribute staff communication. Assist unit leadership with unit projects as assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Educational/Experience Requirements High School Diploma or GED required. One-year previous unit clerk experience or in a clerical position in a similar health care setting preferred. Working knowledge of basic medical terminology. Required License/Certifications N/A. Working Conditions, Equipment, Physical Demands Employees in this position will be exposed to bloodborne pathogens. Must be able to hear normal sounds with some background noise. Routinely lifts objects under 20 pounds. The above physical demands and work environment are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this position. $18—$33.02 USD.
