The IT Technician installs, configures, and maintains computer hardware and software to ensure reliable performance. The role supports help desk operations by troubleshooting issues, resolving tickets, and documenting work accurately. The technician monitors Windows systems, assists with basic Windows Server and network support, and contributes to IT infrastructure projects and system rollouts. This position will report to our office location in Huntsville, AL at Redstone Arsenal. Essential Duties & Responsibilities The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties, but not all duties performed for this position. Other duties may be assigned. Provide technical support for Windows desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripheral equipment for commercial and residential clients. Deploy, configure, image, and upgrade Windows 10/11 systems, including BIOS/UEFI setup, driver installation, software configuration, and post deployment testing. Repair and replace desktop, laptop, and mobile device components, including storage drives, memory, power supplies, keyboards, screens, and other internal hardware Minimum Qualifications To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualifications listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Associate degree in an IT-related field or A+ Certification. Two years of work experience in administration, help desk, implementation, desktop support, and troubleshooting experience. Must always maintain a constant state of mental alertness. Working Conditions Job is performed in a combination of office and outdoor site locations. The office setting includes exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse. Outdoor settings include walking, driving, and carrying supplies throughout all seasons with exposure to heat and cold conditions, and potentially wildlife. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and loud noise.
