Chief Financial Officer

Hybrid in Maryland Heights, MO , this temporary Chief Financial Officer role supports a local non-profit through the new year, with potential consideration for a permanent or full-time arrangement. You will lead core finance and administrative functions while partnering with the CEO, leadership team, and board stakeholders.
What you’ll accomplish
- Act as a trusted business partner to the CEO and leadership team on financial and operational decisions.
- Lead accounting, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, cash management, and audits end-to-end.
- Oversee key administrative functions, including HR, technology, facilities, and risk management .
- Support organizational strategy by improving processes and ensuring resources align with long-term goals.
- Partner with executive leadership, board members , and external stakeholders to communicate financial performance and organizational needs.
- Lead, mentor, and develop staff while fostering a collaborative, accountable culture .
What you bring
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience across finance, accounting, and business operations.
- Experience as a CFO, VP of Finance, Finance Director, or similar senior financial leader.
- Strong command of budgeting, financial reporting, internal controls, and strategic planning .
- Proven ability to lead teams and partner across departments such as HR, operations, or technology .
- Nonprofit experience is preferred.
- CPA and/or MBA credentials are highly preferred.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain finance concepts to both financial and non-financial audiences .

Location: Hybrid remote in Maryland Heights, MO 63043
Schedule: 40.0 hours per week
Compensation: $70.00 to $98.00 per hour, W2
Benefits: No pto/benefits
