Accounts Payable Specialist (High Volume)

Location: Pico Rivera, CA Pay Rate: $22-$24 per hour Schedule: Monday-Friday | Standard business hours

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to support a fast-paced, high-volume accounting environment. This role is responsible for processing large quantities of vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy, timely payments, and compliance with company policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Process high volumes of vendor invoices with accuracy and efficiency
• Verify invoice details, including pricing, approvals, and proper coding
• Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documentation when applicable
• Prepare and assist with weekly check runs and electronic payments
• Resolve invoice discrepancies by coordinating with vendors and internal teams
• Maintain accurate vendor records and support vendor setup as needed
• Respond to vendor inquiries regarding invoice status and payments
• Reconcile vendor statements and follow up on discrepancies
• Assist with month-end close activities related to accounts payable
• Maintain organized AP files and documentation in accordance with company standards
• Support audits by providing requested AP documentation
• Perform additional accounting or administrative tasks as assigned

Qualifications & Skills

• 2+ years of high-volume accounts payable experience preferred
• Strong data entry and reconciliation skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic accounting systems or ERP platforms
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Reliable, organized, and able to work independently or as part of a team

• Fast-paced office setting
• Requires the ability to meet daily processing deadlines and adapt to changing priorities
