Assistant Professor, Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Neuroscience

Job Overview As one of the oldest medical schools in the country, the UC College of Medicine is dedicated to training best-in-class health care professionals. The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience focuses on medical student, resident, and fellow education, excellence in patient care, and advancing the science through clinical trials and collaborative research. The College is recruiting for an Assistant, Associate or Professor level. The final rank and title will be commensurate with the applicant’s experience and achievements. Essential Functions Clinical supervision, mentoring, preceptorships and training of medical students, psychiatry residents, and clinical fellows in mental health related fields. Formal and informal lectures on research design, mood disorders, psychopharmacology and curriculum evaluations. Clinical research as principal investigator, co-investigator, and/or sub-investigator in NIH and industry funded studies. Clinical evaluations, diagnostic assessments, standardized psychometric evaluations, treatment and follow-up of adults with mood and psychotic disorders as incidental to research. Train and supervise research assistants, postgraduate students, and nurses in clinical research protocols. Opportunity for administrative and leadership roles, participation in quality improvement, peer supervision, and formal mentorship. Minimum Requirements Medical Degree (MD or DO), or equivalent. Ohio Clinical Research Faculty Certificate. Completion of 48 months of residency/training in Psychiatry.
