Redfish Recruiting
Position: Product Lead
Location: Remote
Status: 1 Year Fixed Term; Full-time; Exempt with possibility of engagement extension
Reports to : CEO
Organizational Summary and History
Our client is a growing, national nonprofit whose mission is to ensure that equitable, patient-centered contraceptive care is basic health care. We envision a future where all patients are regularly screened for their reproductive health needs and offered patient-centered contraceptive counseling that's free from bias, noncoercive, trauma-informed, and delivered by knowledgeable providers and support staff following best medical practices and evidence-based guidelines. We bring a strong equity lens to our work, and we believe all patients - not just those with significant resources - should be able to easily and conveniently access the contraceptive service of their choice, when they want it and where it is convenient for them to get it. We accomplish this today by partnering with a broad range of healthcare organizations - from large hospitals to small community clinics - and providing them with free, customized training, education, and technical assistance so they can embed high-quality, patient-centered contraceptive care within a standard primary care visit. We modify the electronic health record so that a reproductive health screening question is regularly asked; we ensure that all methods are stocked; we optimize the workflow. The goal of a typical 12-18 month engagement is to leave the health center able to offer seamless, same-day access to excellent counseling and the full range of contraceptive methods in primary care. Our client began by partnering with a single community health center in 2014, when the organization was founded; today, they have partnered with more than 150 healthcare organizations across 31 states and are on a path to training healthcare organizations that serve 5 million patients by 2030. Ensuring that patients have access to the education and tools they need to plan their pregnancies has always been important - and it is even more critical today. Our client is the nation's largest organization providing evidence-based contraceptive training and technical assistance, with an annual budget of approximately $55 million in 2025. Their work has also garnered attention from many leading publications, including Harvard Public Health, Bloomberg, MedPage Today, and Politico. The Role and Opportunity
Our client has focused its resources on ensuring that the most underserved patients with the poorest access to high-quality care - those on public insurance and those who are uninsured - can receive best-in-class care in the brick-and-mortar health centers where they seek care. Now, they aim to create a digital experience for these same marginalized communities to further increase access to patient-centered contraceptive care. Given their deep expertise in training health centers to provide this care and their proven track record of prioritizing patient needs, they are uniquely positioned to tackle this issue. They are developing a contraceptive education, telehealth, and fulfillment platform built specifically for Medicaid beneficiaries and the under- and uninsured. While there has been a surge in telehealth contraceptive care platforms, most are cash-pay options designed for patients at the upper end of the socioeconomic spectrum. This new solution will be free, accessible, and patient-centered. Our client seeks an experienced Product Lead to spearhead the development, pilot, and launch of this brand-new product. This leader will play a central role in shaping its vision, strategy, and execution, with the ultimate goal of building and scaling a national platform designed for those with the least access to contraceptive care in the country. Position Summary
The ideal candidate is an operator with a proven track record of building and scaling products in the digital health space. While experience in women's health, Medicaid, and/or contraceptive care is a bonus, the primary focus is on strong product development, strategic planning, and cross-functional collaboration skills. This is a 12-month fixed-term role with the possibility of extension. Key Responsibilities
Required:
In the first 6-12 months, the Product Lead will focus on foundational tasks to establish a minimum viable product (MVP) for the telehealth platform. Once past the pilot phase, the role will shift toward scaling, optimization, and continuous improvement. First 6-12 Months: Planning, Development, and Pilot Execution

This is a 12-month fixed-term role with the possibility of extension. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and launch our client's direct-to-consumer product, including the creation of the MVP technology platform and go-to-market strategy.
- Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle, from concept and pilot phases to full-scale launch and optimization.
- Build and manage a dedicated team, including new hires and contractors (e.g., product managers, UI/UX experts). Collaborate with existing cross-functional teams-including training, design, clinical advisors, and operations-to leverage expertise and ensure a high-quality patient experience.
- Define the integration strategy with technology and care services partners, working closely with external stakeholders to align the product with regulatory, reimbursement, and operational requirements.
- Develop and implement a measurement framework to assess pilot success, evaluate patient experience, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Stay informed about digital health industry trends, competitive landscape, and best practices to ensure the product remains best-in-class in the telehealth contraceptive space.
Required:
- 7-10+ years of experience as a Product Lead or equivalent role, ideally in digital healthcare with a focus on direct-to-consumer products.
- Demonstrated success in taking a digital health product from concept to market, including pilots and iterative development.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience working with diverse teams and external partners.
- Passion for improving healthcare access and outcomes, particularly for underserved populations.
- Understanding of the Medicaid payor space, including reimbursement models, regulatory requirements, and patient needs.
- Experience designing user-centric digital health experiences.
- Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and other healthcare regulations.
- Background in women's health, contraception, or related fields.

Once past the pilot phase, the role will shift toward scaling, optimization, and continuous improvement. First 6-12 Months: Planning, Development, and Pilot Execution
Pre-Pilot Design:
- Define user profiles.
- Design and build prototypes of the platform and patient journey from education to counseling to provision.
- Conduct patient feedback sessions (e.g., interviews, focus groups) to refine prototypes.
- Identify and engage external partners for the pilot, including telehealth providers and pharmacy partners.
- Determine the geographic focus for the pilot.
- Define MVP requirements.
- Hire additional roles to support MVP rollout.
- Oversee pilot program design, goal-setting, and metric definition.
- Test workflows and user experiences for functionality and ease of use.
- Build relationships with technology partners (telehealth, providers, pharmacy) to ensure alignment.
- Address regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Act as the central point of contact across teams to drive development timelines.
- Troubleshoot real-time challenges to keep the pilot on track.
Scaling:
- Develop strategies for expanding platform adoption among consumers and partners.
- Optimize operations for scalability, including workflows, reimbursement, and clinical support.
- Analyze pilot data and post-launch metrics to improve user experience and platform performance.
- Lead iterative updates based on user feedback and emerging needs.
- Maintain strong relationships with external partners to ensure ongoing alignment.
- Support hiring and development of additional team members as needed to sustain and grow the platform.
