Associate Attorney - Labor & Employment

The Paramus, New Jersey office of Hall Booth Smith, P.C. (HBS) is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its growing national Labor & Employment practice group. This is an excellent opportunity for attorneys looking to expand their practice while working with an experienced and collaborative team representing employers in a broad range of labor and employment matters.

The ideal candidates will have at least 3-7 years of litigation experience with a focus on employment law. Experience with labor relations matters-including collective bargaining, grievance administration, and arbitration-is preferred but not required. Candidates must be active members in good standing of the New Jersey and New York Bar . Lateral Partners with dedicated employment attorneys are strongly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

• Represent and defend clients in hearings, trials, and depositions
• Consult and counsel clients, effectively communicate on cases, providing consistent updates and comprehensive legal advice
• Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, prepare legal documents, and prepare and respond to discovery
• Collaborate closely with partners, associates, and other team members in building and executing successful defense strategies

Qualifications:

• 5-7 years of litigation and employment law experience
• Experience with labor relations matters, including collective bargaining, grievances, and arbitrations, is a plus
• Active membership in good standing with the New Jersey Bar and New York Bar in good standing
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute pre-trial strategy, exercise sound judgment, and think creatively
• Strong work ethic and ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative environment

Compensation:

Salary ranges from $135,000 to $175,000 , commensurate with experience, plus two bonus structures and a comprehensive benefits package.
