Safety Manager / QA-QC Manager – Utility-Scale Solar Construction Compensation: $120,000–$165,000 Base Salary + Annual Project Performance Bonus + Vehicle Allowance + Comprehensive Benefits Position Overview An established EPC contractor is seeking an experienced Safety Manager / QA-QC Manager to support a major utility‑scale solar construction project . This individual will serve as the site’s lead Health, Safety, Environmental (HSE) and Quality representative, ensuring construction activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications and industry quality standards. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced construction professional with direct utility‑scale solar EPC experience who has successfully supported projects from mobilization through commissioning and project closeout. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of both field safety leadership and quality processes while partnering closely with project management, subcontractors, and clients. Key Responsibilities Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Lead all site Health, Safety, and Environmental initiatives throughout the project lifecycle. Develop, implement, and maintain Site Safety Plans, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), and Safe Work Procedures. Conduct daily safety inspections, audits, and field observations. Lead daily pre-task planning meetings, toolbox talks, and new hire safety orientations. Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety observations, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions. Ensure OSHA compliance and maintain all required safety documentation and reporting. Monitor subcontractor safety performance and enforce project safety requirements. Coordinate emergency response planning and emergency drills. Promote a proactive safety culture focused on accountability, continuous improvement, and zero incidents. Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC) Support implementation of the Project Quality Management Plan. Develop and maintain Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs). Perform and witness inspections throughout civil, mechanical, electrical, and commissioning activities. Verify construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, IFC packages, and applicable codes. Manage quality documentation including: Inspection reports Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) Punch lists Turnover packages Coordinate quality inspections, testing, and commissioning activities with subcontractors and project teams. Track deficiencies through completion and verify corrective actions. Support project commissioning, turnover, and final project closeout documentation. Required Qualifications Minimum 5 years of construction safety leadership experience . Minimum 3 years of direct utility‑scale solar EPC construction experience required . Experience supporting utility‑scale solar projects exceeding 100 MW is strongly preferred. Experience supporting projects from mobilization through commissioning and turnover . Strong understanding of utility‑scale solar construction, including: Mechanical installation Electrical systems High‑voltage work Experience supporting or working alongside QA/QC functions on EPC construction projects. Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents. Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and contractor management skills.
