Product Manager, Telematics (UBI) (Hybrid, Webster/Boston)

Summary

Join Mapfre as a Manager, Telematics and help lead the strategy, innovation, and execution of our telematics capabilities across the Personal Lines portfolio. In this highly visible role, you'll drive initiatives that enhance underwriting, pricing, customer engagement, and risk selection while partnering with leaders across Product, Actuarial, Data & Analytics, IT, and external technology partners.

What You'll Do

• Define and execute Mapfre's telematics strategy and multi-year roadmap.
• Lead the rollout and expansion of telematics programs across states and product lines.
• Drive innovation to improve underwriting precision, pricing sophistication, risk segmentation, and customer value.
• Manage strategic vendor partnerships, including vendor selection, performance management, and RFP processes.
• Oversee the integration of telematics data into core business systems, ensuring data quality, scalability, security, and operational effectiveness.
• Partner with Actuarial, Data Science, and Analytics teams to develop predictive models, enhance rating algorithms, and improve portfolio performance.
• Lead state expansion initiatives and collaborate with Compliance, Legal, and Product teams to support regulatory requirements.
• Influence senior leadership through data-driven insights and strategic recommendations.
• Foster collaboration across Product, Underwriting, Actuarial, IT, Distribution, and Marketing to ensure telematics initiatives support broader business objectives.

What You'll Bring

• 5+ years of experience in telematics, product management, data analytics, insurance, or a related field.
• Proven success leading complex, data-driven initiatives from strategy through execution.
• Experience managing vendor relationships, including sourcing, RFPs, and performance oversight.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives within a matrixed Property & Casualty organization.

Knowledge & Expertise

• Strong understanding of telematics technologies, data ecosystems, and analytics applications, including data integration, data pipelines, and technology-enabled business solutions.
• Knowledge of insurance pricing, underwriting, risk segmentation, and the regulatory requirements impacting Personal Lines telematics programs.
• Proven leadership experience influencing stakeholders and driving enterprise initiatives in a matrixed environment.

Pay Philosophy: The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by several factors including skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. Some roles at Mapfre are eligible for commission and/or bonus earnings, in addition to salary, calculated based upon factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

Salary Range $100,900 - $131,100
