Compensation: $175,000 - $190,000 Total Compensation

An established civil contractor in Central Texas is seeking a Chief Civil Estimator to lead its estimating department and play a key role in the company's continued growth.

This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for an experienced heavy civil estimator who wants to influence bid strategy, mentor a team, build industry relationships, and help shape the future direction of a growing construction business.

About the Role

The Chief Civil Estimator will oversee all estimating activities across a diverse portfolio of civil construction projects. This individual will provide leadership, improve estimating processes, guide bid strategy, and serve as a key member of the management team.

The successful candidate will be both strategic and hands-on, capable of leading a team while remaining actively involved in major pursuits and complex estimates.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the estimating department
• Review and prioritize bidding opportunities
• Prepare and oversee detailed estimates and quantity takeoffs
• Utilize estimating software to develop accurate bids
• Develop bid strategies and pricing approaches
• Mentor and develop estimating staff
• Build and maintain relationships with owners, developers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers
• Support business development efforts and market growth initiatives
• Improve estimating systems, procedures, and efficiencies
• Collaborate with operations teams to ensure successful project transitions

Qualifications

• Extensive heavy civil estimating experience
• Strong background in earthwork and site development projects
• Proven ability to lead estimating teams and manage workloads
• Strong takeoff, pricing, and risk evaluation skills
• Experience building client and industry relationships
• Excellent leadership and communication abilities
• Knowledge of the Central Texas construction market preferred
