Resident Service Technician

We are seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Resident Service Technician to join our team!The Resident Service Technician is responsible for performing on-site service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation work on equipment built or supplied by Westfalia Technologies. This role serves as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring equipment reliability while delivering exceptional service and support. The technician works independently at customer locations and coordinates closely with internal teams to resolve technical issues and support parts and service sales.Location Requirements: Must live in one of the following states to be considered: AR, CA, CO, DE, FL, GA, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, MA, MD, ME, MI, MO, MS, NC, NE, NH, NJ, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, UT, VA, VT, WI.Job Functions:Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and installation on S/RMs, conveyors, palletizers, lifts, and robotic systems at customer sitesProvide on-site customer support and maintain daily communication with customers, including written service reports and follow-up actionsSupport parts and service sales by identifying customer needs and assisting with parts order processing and follow-upConduct routine inspections and equipment repairs on installed systemsCoordinate technical and business information between customers, Sales, Engineering, and Service teamsMaintain professional customer relationships while resolving issues in a calm and effective mannerSubmit required documentation and service paperwork accurately and in a timely mannerPromote teamwork and collaboration within the Service DepartmentPerform other duties as assignedRequired Skills and Abilities:Fit for air travel and legal eligibility to rent and operate a rental vehicle through the company’s corporate account, in compliance with rental agency policies and insurance requirementsValid driver’s license and ability to pass background check and drug screeningStrong electro/mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skillAbility to work independently with minimal supervision (self-starter)Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar business applicationsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers and internal teamsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to professionally resolve customer concerns and complaintsAbility to use hand tools and diagnostic equipmentEducation and Experience:Previous experience with electro/mechanical repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting requiredExperience using diagnostic tools and equipment requiredAssociates or Bachelor’s degree or mechatronics certification (preferred)Physical Requirements:Ascend and descend fixed vertical ladders up to 135 feet high (approximately 10% of the time)Visually inspect machinery in low-light or dark environmentsFrequently move toolboxes weighing up to 70 lbs.; occasionally lift or position heavier objects using rigging equipmentMaintain full mobility to safely rig equipment weighing up to 1,000 lbs.Temperatures may range from -40°F to 110°F depending on the facility (including freezer environments)Travel Requirements:100% on-site work at customer locationsFrequent air travel requiredDaily local and regional travel to customer facilities as neededWork Authorization: Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.Why Work for Westfalia Technologies, Inc.?Our culture can be defined as one of progression and flexibility.
