Senior Accounting Manager

Our client is a publicly traded, fast-growing critical logistics and healthcare services company seeking a Senior Accounting Manager / Assistant Controller to join its accounting team. This is a hands-on role for someone who wants exposure to a public company close process without taking on SEC filing responsibility, reporting directly to the Corporate Controller with a clear path to promotion. What You'll Do Prepare and review transactions in NetSuite, including journal entries and bills, along with other detail-oriented accounting tasks Own month-end and quarter-end close procedures in NetSuite, ensuring timely and accurate results Drive process optimization and automation initiatives to improve the speed and accuracy of the close Prepare quarterly income statement and balance sheet analytics, documenting period-over-period fluctuations in an MD&A-ready format Partner with the SEC Reporting team on proper classification and presentation of income statement and balance sheet accounts Manage balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring timely completion and resolution of reconciling items Collaborate with FP&A, providing accurate financials and accounting insight to inform budgets and forecasts Support the SEC Reporting team with financial statement disclosures and supporting schedules Stay current on U.S. GAAP and apply new standards as needed to financial statement presentation What We're Looking For 8-15 years of progressive accounting experience, combining public accounting (Top 20 firm) and/or private/corporate accounting CPA or CPA parts passed (candidates with no CPA will be considered if they have prior public accounting experience) Strong analytical ability — able to draw conclusions from account activity and reconciliations and identify anomalies Track record of building and standardizing financial reporting processes High standards of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail Able to work on-site 4x per week Preferred Experience at a publicly traded company Hands-on experience with NetSuite Exposure to SOX documentation and controls Experience in a B2C, app-based business model The Environment Based in Manhattan (Hudson Yards) with a 4x/week in-office expectation, this team operates in a fast-paced, publicly traded company environment.
