SCHEDULE & COVERAGE

Candidates should be located within reasonable commuting distance of the Springfield or Jacksonville, Illinois area
Candidate may work from either the Springfield or Jacksonville location depending on proximity and coverage needs

VEHICLE REQUIREMENTS

Personal vehicle required for field travel
Mileage reimbursement provided for approved business travel
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required
Candidates must be comfortable traveling approximately 100 miles throughout the Central Illinois service territory as patient needs require

Registered Respiratory Therapist, RRT
Certified Respiratory Therapist, CRT
Registered Nurse, RN
Licensed Practical Nurse, LPN
Active applicable state licensure required

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Active applicable clinical license required
Comfortable supporting VA patient follow up visits
Experience with CPAP strongly preferred
Experience with BiPAP strongly preferred
Experience with noninvasive ventilation strongly preferred
Comfortable assisting with ventilator related patient visits
Ability to provide patient and caregiver education on respiratory equipment
Ability to independently conduct field based patient visits
Ability to travel throughout Central Illinois using a personal vehicle
Strong documentation and communication skills

Candidate will be hired directly onto payroll as Active Limited

This is a flexible part time opportunity requiring approximately 8 to 20 hours per week
There are no on-call responsibilities
Primary need is assistance with VA patient follow ups and ventilator visits
Location also needs assistance with CPAP setups
Candidate can work from either the Springfield or Jacksonville location
Candidates with CPAP, BiPAP, and noninvasive ventilator experience should be prioritized
This could be particularly attractive to an experienced respiratory clinician looking for supplemental hours without a traditional full time schedule or on call commitment

VERVIEW

Seeking an experienced respiratory clinician for a flexible, long term temporary assignment supporting patients throughout Springfield, Jacksonville, and Central Illinois.

This position is expected to work approximately 8 to 20 hours per week and will primarily provide VA patient follow ups, ventilator related visits, and assistance with CPAP setups. The assignment is long-term temporary with no established end date at this time.

Candidates may work from either the Springfield or Jacksonville client location and will travel throughout the service territory using their personal vehicle with mileage reimbursement.

Conduct in home patient assessments and respiratory follow up visits
Provide follow up care for VA respiratory patients
Assist with CPAP setups and patient education
Support patients utilizing CPAP, BiPAP, noninvasive ventilation, and other respiratory equipment
Complete ventilator related patient visits as assigned
Monitor respiratory equipment and help troubleshoot equipment concerns
Educate patients and caregivers regarding prescribed respiratory equipment and therapy
Maintain accurate documentation of patient visits and services
Communicate patient needs and relevant clinical findings to physicians and other members of the care team
Provide ongoing support and follow up for respiratory patients
Travel throughout the assigned Central Illinois service territory
Perform other duties consistent with applicable licensure and procedures

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or GED required
Active applicable Illinois clinical licensure required
RRT, CRT, RN, or LPN credentials accepted
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required
Reliable personal vehicle required for field travel

Noninvasive ventilator experience
Ventilator patient care experience
Home respiratory care or home healthcare experience
DME or HME experience
Hospital respiratory or pulmonary care experience
At least one year of relevant clinical experience
Familiarity with medical terminology
Experience providing patient and caregiver education

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to lift and transport patient equipment weighing at least 65 pounds
Regular driving throughout the assigned field territory
Ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, and listen for extended periods
Regular contact with patients and equipment with potential exposure to contagious pathogens
Close vision required for documentation, computer screens, tablets, and equipment
Must comply with Respiratory Protection and N95 Mask Fit Testing Policy
Medical evaluation and fit testing required
Annual recertification required
Must meet OSHA requirements for proper N95 mask seal
