We are looking for a mid-level to experienced Civil Litigation Legal Assistant/Secretary to add to the team. The team requires a highly skilled, career driven individual to join our team providing excellent service and representation for our clients.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in Civil Litigation with a practice area focus on Personal Injury/Wrongful Death matters preferred.

Must be well-organized, detail oriented, and tech-savvy. Must possess excellent document preparation, typing, formatting and prioritization skills. The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, is flexible and adaptable, and enjoys working as part of a team or under minimal supervision.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Corresponding and communicating with clients

Prepare legal documents using correct formatting, based on local rules of the court

Drafting pleadings and discovery

E-Filing and Paper Filing (as needed) in State and Federal Courts

Calendaring all events in ProLaw and Microsoft Outlook

Ability to calculate legal deadlines in accordance with statutory local, state, federal and

appellate rules

Apprise and remind attorneys and all necessary team members of deadlines and appearances

Corresponding and communicating with clients and counsel

Scheduling Depositions

Maintain paperless files and documents following established Firm practices.

Assist Attorneys in all phases of their Civil Litigation practice and Community

Service Activities

Backup other Legal Secretaries/Assistants and Administrative Staff as needed

A qualified candidate must meet the following requirements:

Must have a minimum of three years experience as a Legal Secretary/Assistant

Positive Outlook and Can Do Attitude

Highly Proficient usage of Microsoft Office 365 - Word, Excel and Outlook as well as

Adobe Acrobat Pro

Experience with Prolaw Case Management Software including Westlaw Rules in Prolaw

is preferred, but calendaring/docketing experience is required.

Possess excellent verbal, writing, and proofreading skills

Must have the ability to identify urgent tasks and prioritize time accordingly

Must be able to multi-task and adapt gracefully to changing situations, priorities, and deadlines

Compensation: Competitive salary dependent on experience; Salary range is $36-$45 per hour DOE. Comprehensive Benefits Package is also offered.
