Construction Manager - Electrical Low Voltage/Telecom

Location: Project site, Boise, ID. Responsibilities Oversee low voltage electrical subcontractors and vendors installation work daily to ensure schedule adherence and support system startup and commissioning activities. Interpret construction documents, control sequences, and technical manuals. Run startup meetings involving area construction managers, design team members, multiple subcontractors, local utility agencies, and owners to coordinate and drive MEP system start‑up activities. Interface between area construction managers and multiple subcontractors to assist in coordinating mechanical/electrical startups. Verify all documentation is complete and equipment being prepared for startup is construction complete and safe to start. Coordinate MEP systems with civil, architectural, and structural elements within the overall project design. Organize and facilitate training of owners’ personnel in the operations and maintenance of MEP systems. Review and process project submittal information and coordinate between multiple submittals to ensure the accuracy and functionality of each component of the various MEP systems. Receive and distribute requests for information (RFI) and change documents issued by other team members. Ensure completion and filing of record documents. Field survey layout of control lines and benchmarks. Maintain information storage and retrieval using computers and handheld electronic hardware. Serve as technical advisor at onsite field construction office. Access all areas and levels of the construction site for work progress review. Adjust work schedule to accommodate extended hours or off‑shift work as required by construction sequences. Assist in estimating low voltage electrical budgets. Secure low voltage electrical subcontractor and equipment buyout. Manage low voltage electrical subcontractor contracts and contract modifications. Oversee billing and schedule of values for low voltage electrical subcontractors and vendors. Assist with managing low voltage electrical team project staffing. Write and publish meeting minutes, schedule graphs, and activity checklists. Provide clear verbal, written, and electronic communication. Qualifications Demonstrated thorough understanding of all aspects of low voltage electrical construction. Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent education and/or field work experience. Background in materials and methods of construction. Minimum of 5 years of electrical construction experience. Specific experience in industrial and/or hi‑tech semiconductor projects. LEED Accredited Professional or ability to become accredited within 18 months preferred. Experience organizing technical data accurately; familiarity with CSI specification system. Ability to work closely with trade and craft personnel in a field environment; patience and professionalism essential. Position‑Related Skills Handle several work activities simultaneously while being frequently interrupted by phone calls and urgent questions. Training in design and construction document reading, design specifications, survey theory and techniques. Highly developed visual observation and interpretation skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work closely with owners, architects, engineers, manufacturers, vendors, and subcontractors. Dedicated team player, self‑starter, flexible; able to work well with a variety of personalities and under minimal instruction. Physically able to access all areas and levels of construction site for work progress review. Work schedule flexible to accommodate extended hours or off‑shift work as required. Proficient in Windows, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), and Bluebeam. Experience with project management software (Prolog, Procore, E‑Builder, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6). Experience with design software (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks). Physical & Mental Requirements Combination of standing, walking, and sitting throughout the workday. Climb stairs, ladders, scaffolds, and work in confined spaces. Operate computer and office equipment frequently. Good vision (close vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus outdoors); valid driver’s license required. Operate in environments with noise >75% of the time; hearing protection may be required. Communicate in English; write and speak clearly. Lift or manipulate up to 50 lbs to a height of 3 ft and carry or push 50–100 ft. Frequent bending, twisting, kneeling, crouching, and crawling as needed. Use independent judgment and organizational problem‑solving skills to achieve desired results.
